Start with measuring. Lay a tape measure horizontally around the widest point of your head, a finger's width above your eyebrows, and note the circumference in centimetres. The sizes deliberately overlap, so someone who measures 56 cm may end up in S or in M. Feel decides, not the number: the helmet must not press anywhere and must not turn with the closure open when you shake your head.

Care is limited. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. The liner can be washed at 30°C, without fabric softener, and simply air dries. Keep the helmet in a helmet bag, then the matt shell stays good-looking longer.

If the helmet has been dropped, even without you wearing it, have it checked or replace it. Damage to the inner shell cannot be seen on the outside.

The Shadowmatt 2.0 is a good base for riders who want a matt, classic helmet they can finish to their own taste. It works in dressage, jumping and eventing, from daily training to the show ring.

If you would rather have a helmet that is fully black from shell to blazon, without having to compose it yourself, the Darkline version is simpler. If you are looking for a wider peak and an outspoken finish with crystals, look at the Miss versions. If you prefer a glossy shell, a Glossy version makes more sense.
