Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.

Rugs

How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.

Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.

The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information

The LeMieux Orla Pull Ons are riding leggings with no zip and no buttons, from the Young Rider range that LeMieux designs for children aged 7 to 14. Your child pulls them on like everyday leggings, for a lesson, a hack or a day at the yard. The Orla has full grip: silicone grip across the seat and the inside of the legs. This page offers the widest choice of colours: Black, Navy, Ember, Ginger, Cinder, Alpine, Petrol and Glacier.

About these leggings

Pull-on leggings are all about keeping things simple. The Orla stays in place at the waist with an elasticated band that feels firm and supportive, yet still gives. There is no fly, no button and no zip, so nothing for small fingers to fumble with in the changing room or at the yard.

Eight colours on one page means you have the most freedom in the smallest size: every colour is available here in 122-128 (age 7-8). Looking for a neutral pair that goes with everything? Black and Navy are the obvious choice. The other six give a child who loves colour more to choose from.

For a slightly older child, the range here is smaller. In 134-140 (age 9-10) you will find Ember, Cinder, Navy and Ginger, and Ginger is the only colour that also comes in 146-152 (age 11-12). Need a bigger size? Have a look at the other Orla pages in our range as well: they carry other colours, some up to 158-164 (age 13-14).

Choose the size by age, but also check your child's height against the LeMieux size chart. Torn between two sizes? Measure your child and get in touch with the shop, and we will work out together which size fits best.

Smooth the legs down before your child steps into riding boots or yard boots with half chaps, so nothing bunches up around the calf. For care: wash at 30°C maximum, inside out, with similar colours and a non-biological detergent; do not bleach, do not dry clean, do not tumble dry and dry naturally only. Got several colours at home? Wash darks and lights separately.

Choose these Orla leggings if your child wants a pair they can quickly pull on themselves, for lessons, hacks and yard work, and if colour matters to you. In age 7-8 especially, this is where you have the widest choice.

Prefer the look of riding breeches? Is your child younger than 7? Then the Mini Pull Ons from the Mini range (age 3-10) are the ones to look at.

Wash at 30°C maximum, inside out, with similar colours and a non-biological detergent. Do not bleach, dry clean or tumble dry; dry naturally. Wash dark and light colours separately.

Which size should I choose?
LeMieux uses sizes by age, each covering a two-year span, such as 122-128 (age 7-8). Measure your child, compare with the LeMieux size chart and get in touch with the shop if you are unsure.

Which colours are available in age 9-10?
On this page, Ember, Cinder, Navy and Ginger. In age 11-12, only Ginger is available.

How do these differ from riding breeches?
Riding breeches have a fastening, usually a zip and button. These leggings do not: an elasticated waistband keeps them in place.

Do the Orla leggings have grip?
Yes. The Orla has full grip: silicone grip across the seat and the inside of the legs.

How do I wash these leggings?
At 30°C maximum, inside out and with similar colours, using a non-biological detergent. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry and leave to dry naturally.
