Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Always measure carefully and use our size charts as a guide.

Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The LeMieux Rug Liner is a quilted liner rug that lets you add warmth to a compatible LeMieux turnout rug or stable rug. You choose between 50g, 100g and 200g fill, so you can match the level of insulation to the weather and to how much warmth your horse needs. That saves keeping a completely different rug ready for every change in temperature.
About this rug liner
The advantage of a liner system is its flexibility. Instead of reaching for another complete rug whenever the weather turns, you slide a liner under the rug that is already on. The 50g version adds a light extra layer, 100g gives more insulation, and 200g is what you use when you want to add clearly more warmth. Which weight suits depends not only on the outside temperature, but also on the main rug and on your horse.
The Rug Liner is filled with thermobonded polyester. In that construction the fill is bonded with heat, so it is slower to clump together or slip downwards. The insulating layer therefore stays better spread across the rug.
The outer is made in 210T polyester with a non-absorbent coating that helps keep the liner clean. Inside, a smooth 210T antibacterial and antistatic lining lies against the coat.
The fastenings are designed for liner use too. D-rings with hook-and-loop at the neck and trigger clips at the rear join the liner to the main rug. The liner is compatible with Kudos Turnout, Arika Featherweight, Arika Storm-Tek and LeMieux stable rugs.
Which fill should you choose? That depends on how much you want to add underneath the main rug:
- 50g: the lightest version, for a limited amount of extra insulation.
- 100g: the middle option, for situations where 50g is not enough but 200g would be too much.
- 200g: the warmest of the three, when you want to add considerably more insulation.
The right choice still depends on your horse, the outer rug you use and the conditions. Keep checking, then, whether your horse is comfortable under the combination you have chosen. The Rug Liner comes into its own when you want to deal with temperature swings flexibly through the season: one main rug, several liners.
