Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
A classic snaffle bridle from BR in supple Italian leather, with an anatomically shaped headpiece, a softly padded noseband with flash strap and silver-coloured nickel-plated brass buckles. The off-white contrast stitching and raised square finish give it a quiet, timeless line. For riders who want a well-made bridle that does not shout, but gets everything right. Reins are not included.
About this bridle
Some bridles ask for attention, others simply do their job. The Salcombe belongs to the second group. The line is classic: a noseband with a raised square finish, fine decorative stitching and off-white contrast stitching that lifts the leather just enough. On the black version that contrast reads as understated, on the Oak version it looks warmer.
The headpiece is anatomically shaped and softly padded, with extra room behind the ears. The weight of the bridle is carried across a wider area and the whole thing stays in place, even during longer or more intensive sessions.
The noseband is softly padded. That lining spreads the pressure evenly across the nose instead of concentrating it on the edges of the strap. A horse that feels comfortable in the head finds a calm, steady contact more easily, and that is exactly what you want in everyday work.
The flash strap runs under the bit and comes with a buckle guard. That is a piece of leather that sits between the buckle and your horse's head, so the buckle never presses directly against the skin around the mouth. A small detail, but one of the spots where a bridle takes the most wear.
The buckles are nickel-plated brass with a silver finish. Brass does not rust, and the nickel plating gives the silver colour while keeping the buckles smooth in use. Everything is made from supple Italian leather that feels pleasant from the first ride and slowly moulds to your horse's head.
You choose between Black/Silver and Oak/Silver, in sizes Cob and Full. Reins are not supplied, so you decide for yourself which type of rein you ride with.
