Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The BR Hitchin bridle is a snaffle bridle in Italian leather with an anatomically shaped, softly padded headpiece and a padded noseband with a V-mounted flash strap. The piping and decorative stones give it a refined look. For riders who want to combine comfort with a smart appearance, in daily training and in the arena. Reins are not included.
About this bridle
The Hitchin is the model in which BR combines an anatomical cut with clear but understated detailing. The headpiece is anatomically shaped and softly padded, with cushioning behind the ears. That way the weight of the bridle does not rest on a narrow strap, but on a broader and softer surface. You notice the difference above all in the last quarter of a session, when your horse starts responding to the small things.
This bridle does not need breaking in first. Thanks to the combination of padding and Italian leather that feels supple from the start, it sits comfortably on the head straight away. Handy if you put it into use shortly before a competition day.
The noseband is anatomically shaped and padded, so pressure is spread evenly across the nose instead of ending up on the edges of the strap. Underneath runs a flash strap, mounted in a V. That V-mounting keeps the flash strap in position and stops it pulling crooked when you fasten it. A detail that is functional and tidy at the same time.
The finish is what sets it apart here. A subtle sugar crush piping runs along the straps, and the bridle is further finished with decorative stones. Together they add a luxurious touch without becoming busy, which lets it work just as well with classic tack as with a more modern outfit.
The leather is high-quality Italian leather. It feels supple, holds its shape and keeps looking well cared for over the years with ordinary maintenance. This version comes in the colour Black Patent, in sizes Cob and Full. Reins are not supplied, so you choose them yourself, matched to your discipline and to how much grip you prefer.
