Airbags & body protectors
Airbags & Protectors – Maximum safety, freedom of movement and confidence in the saddle
The Airbags & Bodyprotectors collection at Ruitersport Maddelin is aimed at riders who want to combine safety with comfort and top performance. Modern airbags and body protectors are designed to minimize the impact of a fall without restricting the rider's freedom of movement. They are essential in disciplines such as show jumping and eventing, but are increasingly being worn in dressage and training.
Airbag vests – smart, innovative protection
Airbag vests offer advanced, immediate protection in the event of a fall. The system inflates in milliseconds and protects:
- Chest
- Back and lumbar zone
- Neck
- Ribs
- Abdomen
Thanks to clever patterns and ergonomic cuts, these airbags are exceptionally light to wear. You'll barely feel them, yet you'll enjoy an unparalleled level of safety.
Compatible with competition and training clothing
Our airbag vests are designed to fit under or over competition clothing. Many riders opt for a special airbag-compatible competition jacket that moves with them and won't tear after activation. Thanks to modern stretch fabrics, your outfit stays elegant, both in training and in the show ring.
Body protectors – strong, lasting protection
In addition to airbags, we also offer body protectors for riders who prefer structural protection without gas cartridges. They are CE-certified, shock-absorbing, and feature flexible panels that conform to the body's shape. These protectors are ideal for eventing, cross-country, and youth riders.
Light, breathable and comfortable
A good protector must be safe, but also comfortable to wear. That's why our collection consists exclusively of models with:
- Breathable foam and mesh
- Flexible segments that follow the body
- Lightweight materials that do not hinder
- Adjustable closures for a perfect fit
Even during intense training, the vest remains fresh, stable and comfortable.
For every discipline and every level
Our airbags and protectors are suitable for:
- Eventing
- Jumping
- Dressage (increasingly popular)
- Outdoor rides
- Training and lunging sessions
For young riders and beginning riders, they're a valuable safety feature. For professionals and ambitious riders, they've become a standard part of their equipment.
CE and safety standards
All models comply with current equestrian safety standards. We're happy to help you choose between airbags, level 3 body protectors, or hybrid systems, depending on the discipline and regulations.
Easy maintenance and use
Airbag vests are easy to maintain and are quickly ready for use again after activation:
- Cartridges easy to replace
- Washable linings on many models
- Durable materials that withstand shock and wear
We are happy to show you how to correctly install and maintain your airbag.
