About this competition shirt

A bib is the panel at the front of a competition shirt that takes the place of a stock tie. On this model that panel is perforated and heat-sealed: the edges are fixed under heat instead of stitched through, so no seam edge bulges under the jacket. That is why the name of the item contains both 'perforated' and 'heat sealed'.

Short sleeves in the arena. The FEI jumping rules allow short sleeves, including with a jacket, and require a white collar and a white tie, stock or choker. For children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white, which is no problem with this white shirt. If the ground jury decides in very warm weather that riders may compete without a jacket, the requirement that the shirt has sleeves still stands; a short-sleeve model can therefore come along.

Dressage. The international dressage rules contain no provision about the shirt and ask only for a white or off-white stock or tie. The Belgian rules add a white shirt to that and, without a jacket, sleeves covering at least the shoulders. A short-sleeve shirt meets that last point; sleeveless does not. Because rules differ by federation, discipline and level and change regularly, the current rules of your own federation remain decisive.

Limitations. This is a competition shirt and not a training polo: the bib with sealed edges is intended for the arena and stands up to daily use and many washes less well than a plain jersey. White needs aftercare at collar and cuff. And there is one size and one colour left: M in white. So there is no colour choice.
