How much warmth your horse needs depends on conditions: breed, coat, clipping, wind and humidity all play a part. Regularly feel under the rug at the withers to check your horse is neither too warm nor too cold.

After a muddy day, just rinse off the silicone tail strap. Wash the rug in the machine at 30 °C with a mild detergent and close the hook-and-loop first.

Choose the Winderen Thermoactive Zoom 100-350 if your horse lives out in winter and you want one rug with a heavy outer fabric and insulation that copes with changing temperatures. It suits horses that are tough on their rugs in the field.

Wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle, with a mild detergent and no fabric softener. Close the hook-and-loop first. Do not bleach, dry clean or tumble dry.

How much fill does this rug have?
There is no fixed fill in grams. Winderen says the insulation is equivalent to 100 to 350 g, through the combination of Climashield and the Thermoactive layer.

What does the Thermoactive layer do?
It is Outlast technology: materials that absorb heat as it gets warmer and release it again as it cools.

Is this a turnout rug or a stable rug?
This is the turnout version, with a waterproof 1680D ballistic nylon outer fabric. Winderen also makes the Thermoactive Zoom as a stable rug; at Maddelin that is a separate product.

How do I choose the size?
Winderen uses a size chart based on height at the withers and build (solid, typical or slim). The rug can be adjusted roughly 5 cm larger or smaller.

Is a neck cover included?
No. Winderen makes a matching neck cover that is sold separately.
