This is the shirt for warm days and for classes where the colour of the shirt is free. Because it also exists in the smallest size, it is a good choice when a brother or sister rides in the same colour. Lay a tie or stock over the stand-up collar when the class asks for that. Wash at thirty degrees with similar colours and let it air dry: Joline rules out the tumble dryer. Wash a bright colour separately from light clothing the first few times, so that it does not run, and turn the shirt inside out to slow the fading. Hang it up afterwards, so that the short puff sleeves and the ruffles keep their shape.

Choose this shirt for a young rider between about three and sixteen who wants a dressy but airy show shirt in a striking colour in summer. It suits schooling, warming up, showing classes and competitions where the colour of the shirt is free. If the class asks for a white collar, the Joline Josephine show shirt with long sleeves in the white version is the right choice. If you want the same short-sleeved model in a quieter shade of blue, the Joline Josephine show shirt with short sleeves in light blue is the alternative, although we have that left in a single size. For cooler weather take a long-sleeved model.

Aqua is a bright shade: wash the shirt separately the first few times and after that with similar colours, as Joline asks, at thirty degrees. Inside out in the drum spares the colour and the ruffles. The tumble dryer drops out, so lay the shirt flat or hang it on a hanger out of full sun. The holes in the side panels need no separate care; just do not rub over them with a stain-remover stick.

What fibre statement does Joline give?

It mentions 68% nylon for the fabric and cotton for the collar, without naming the remaining 32% and without the cotton percentage of the collar. Because guessing is not an option here, those figures stay out of the technical features.

Which sizes are there in Aqua?

Four: 98-104 and 110-116 at the small end, 158-164 and 170-176 at the large end. The heights between those two blocks we do not carry in this colour.

How does this shirt differ from the long-sleeved model?

It has short puff sleeves, without a cotton cuff and without decorative buttons, and it has holes in the side panels. The long-sleeved model does not have those holes and finishes the sleeve with a cuff.

Does Aqua fade in the wash?

Joline gives no data on that. In practice a bright shade loses colour sooner than a neutral one; washing separately the first few times, turning it inside out and drying out of full sun limits that.

What exactly are those holes in the sides?

Perforations in the fabric of the side panels, according to Joline's description. There is no separate mesh panel in the shirt.

How does the shirt fasten at the front?

With a zip, with the same ruffle beside it as on the collar. This model has no buttons to do up.

May a coloured shirt go to a competition?

FEI Jumping Rules article 207.2.3 asks in showjumping for a white collar, with a long sleeve white cuffs, and besides that a white tie, stock or choker; for children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white. In Belgian dressage a white shirt is prescribed. If you are going to a test with such a requirement, take the white version of this model. The requirements vary by federation, discipline, level and country and are updated, so check the rules of your own federation.
