About this bridle
The Olympic by Utzon Equestrian relies above all on its cut. The headpiece is anatomically shaped: it is more generous behind the ears and carries the weight of the bridle across a wider surface. A straight headpiece places that same weight on a narrow strip; an anatomical headpiece spreads it.
The noseband is slim and padded, and works as a crank noseband. The fastening sits at the back and the strap is tightened through a loop, so the pull is spread evenly along the noseband instead of landing on a single buckle. On the inside there is a lining, keeping the strap soft on the nose. One important point: a crank noseband is designed to close evenly, not to close tighter. So you adjust it just like any other noseband.

A crank noseband tempts you to tighten it too far, precisely because it goes so easily. Do not do that. Leave two fingers of room between the noseband and the nasal bone and check that your horse can still chew comfortably. The noseband should sit about two fingers below the cheekbone.
English leather needs some attention at first. Treat it a few times with leather balm during the first rides, wipe away sweat and sand after every ride with a damp cloth and let it dry at room temperature. Work carefully around the crystals and rub them dry, so no soap residue is left behind.

The crank noseband closes evenly, but do not pull it tighter just because it is easy. Place it about two fingers below the cheekbone, leave two fingers of room between noseband and nasal bridge and check that your horse can still chew freely. Reins are not included.
