Trolle Goose Down Gilet 2.0 Women

The Trolle Goose Down Gilet 2.0 is a light, sleeveless down jacket for riders who want warmth around the core without restricting their arms. That is exactly why a gilet often works better at the yard and in the saddle than a full jacket: your core stays warm while your shoulders and arms stay free to groom, tack up and ride.

The filling is 90% goose down and 10% feathers, certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). That certification guarantees the down does not come from live-plucked or force-fed birds — a detail that matters to many riders as much as the warmth itself. Goose down also gives the best warmth-to-weight ratio available: a lot of insulation, very little bulk.

Shell and lining are water-repellent polyester. That handles drizzle and the damp air of a winter morning, but it is not a rain jacket: in sustained rain, wear a waterproof layer over the top.

Finish and detail

The hood is detachable and adjustable, so you can wear the gilet with or without it, and over a cap. Hidden SUN GRIP® snap buttons keep the front closed cleanly, with no visible hardware. The YKK® zip is two-way: you can open it from the bottom once you are mounted, so the gilet does not ride up. Two zipped front pockets with padded detailing complete the front.

When do you wear it?

On cold mornings at the yard, while warming up, teaching from the side of the arena, and as an extra layer under a rain jacket. The design is tidy enough to keep on away from the stables too.

Care

Down needs its own approach: wash at low temperature with a dedicated down detergent, without fabric softener. Dry it fully, shaking the garment out along the way so the down loosens again. Never store it compressed — down that stays flattened for long loses its insulating power.

When to choose something else

If you also want warm arms while standing still for long stretches, a full down jacket from the Trolle range is the better choice. If you want a layer to keep on through hard work, a technical fleece or softshell suits better: down insulates so well that you overheat under effort.
