Bucas Therapy Turnout Light 50g Turnout Rug

The 50 g fill is intended for cool, wet weather. Breed, coat, clipping, wind and humidity also determine what your horse needs. Regularly feel under the rug at the withers to check your horse is neither too warm nor too cold. When it gets colder, attach a Bucas Liner or Quilt underneath rather than changing rugs straight away.

Register the rug with Bucas within 30 days of purchase and the guarantee on manufacturing and material defects runs for 3 years instead of 2. If your horse has health problems, discuss them with your vet: a rug is no substitute for veterinary advice.

Choose the Bucas Therapy Outdoordeken if you want a lightweight turnout rug with a very tough outer fabric, for example for a horse in a field with hedges or fencing, or one that plays a lot with field mates. It is also a logical choice if you want leg straps included.

Lay the rug on the back from front to rear. Close the front with Click'N Go and Snap-lock first, then the cross surcingles, and finally the Deluxe leg straps and tail cord. Remove it in reverse order. Wash the rug as little as possible, at a maximum of 30 °C with Bucas Rug Wash. Close hook-and-loop and surcingles before washing, do not use bleach and do not tumble dry.

What is the difference between the Therapy Turnout and the Therapy Turnout Light?
Bucas calls the version with 50 g fill the Therapy Turnout Light. That is the version Maddelin stocks.

Is this a medical device?
No. We sell and describe this rug as a waterproof turnout rug. If your horse has health problems, talk to your vet.

Why ballistic nylon?
It is a heavy 1680 denier fabric in a half-panama weave, which Bucas describes as tear-resistant in all directions.

Are leg straps included?
Yes, the rug has Deluxe leg straps and a Deluxe tail cord.

Which size should I choose?
Measure from the centre of the chest, over the highest point of the shoulder, to the back of the hindquarters. The first number in our notation (145 or 155) is the Bucas size.

Can I add a neck cover?
Yes, the rug has attachment points for a neck cover. Bucas makes the Therapy Turnout Neck with 50 g fill for it.

How do I wash the rug?
In the machine at a maximum of 30 °C with Bucas Rug Wash, as little as possible. Close hook-and-loop and surcingles first, do not use bleach and do not tumble dry.
