Size guide

A correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size so that your equipment fits perfectly—whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only ensures greater comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as precisely as possible. Because fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.
How to measure correctly?
For the best results, always measure with a flexible tape measure, close to the body but without tightening.
-
Chest circumference: measure around the widest part of the chest
-
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips
-
Inseam length: measure from groin to ankle
-
Head circumference (helmets): measure just above the eyebrows and ears
-
Calf circumference & height (boots/chaps): measure the widest part of the calf and the height from heel to hollow of the knee
If you are in doubt between two sizes? We usually advise choosing the larger size for extra comfort, unless otherwise stated with the product.
At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
Trust Sweet Iron – Loose Ring Large French Link
The Trust Sweet Iron Loose Ring Large French Link bit is designed for riders who strive for gentle, fair, and relaxed communication with their horse. Thanks to the thoughtful combination of material, shape, and ring type, this bit is particularly suitable for horses that react sensitively to pressure or need stable yet flexible contact.
The double-jointed French Link mouthpiece ensures an even pressure distribution over the tongue and bars, preventing sharp pressure points and the typical nutcracker effect. This makes the bit more comfortable to use and helps your horse accept contact better and relax in the hand.
The Sweet Iron material stimulates saliva production through natural oxidation, contributing to a softer mouth and a more relaxed posture during riding. The larger loose rings offer extra stability compared to standard rings, while still maintaining sufficient freedom of movement for fine aid transmission.
A versatile and reliable bit that is perfect for both young horses in training and experienced sport horses.
Why choose the Trust Sweet Iron Large French Link:
Sweet Iron: stimulates saliva production and acceptance
French Link mouthpiece: even and gentle pressure distribution
Large loose rings: extra stability while maintaining flexibility
Comfortable: prevents pinching and harsh action
Versatile: suitable for various disciplines
Ideal for sensitive horses and young horses
