Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The Schockemöhle Stanford is an anatomically shaped bridle in European leather, with a wide padded headpiece, a padded combined noseband and a slightly curved browband. It comes in four colours and four sizes, from Pony to X-Full, which makes it suitable for a wide range of head shapes. For riders in dressage, jumping and eventing. Reins are not included.
About this bridle
The Stanford is one of the more widely usable anatomical models from Schockemöhle. Where many bridles only exist in Cob and Full, this model runs from Pony to X-Full. Whether you ride a pony or a big horse, you do not have to switch to another model to get the same fit.
The headpiece is cut wider and generously padded. A wide headpiece carries the bridle and bit across a larger surface instead of resting the weight on a narrow strip behind the ears. For horses that react when you bring the bridle over the ears, or that keep shaking the bridle off, that is the first thing to look at.
The noseband is a combined noseband, so it has a flash strap. It is anatomically cut and softly padded, so the contact around the nose stays even and the jaw keeps its movement. The browband is slightly curved: it follows the line of the forehead and leaves the base of the ears free, which you notice most on horses with a short distance between ears and eyes.
The leather is supple, hard-wearing European leather. It is finished with fine stitching and stainless steel buckles that keep their appearance after a wet ride. The whole bridle looks sporty and tidy without conspicuous decoration, so it works just as well in training as in the ring.
You can choose between Black, Espresso, Black/White and Black Patent. Black/White combines black leather with a white accent, Black Patent is the darkest and glossiest version. Not every colour exists in every size, so check the colour and size overview when you order. Reins are not part of the delivery; you choose those separately from our range.
