Oil the blade set before you start and repeat that regularly while clipping. A lubricated blade set runs lighter and cooler and holds its cut longer. After use, brush the hair out from between the teeth and store the blade set dry, so the steel does not hold moisture.

Always clip on a clean, dry coat. Sand and dust are the quickest way to blunt a blade set, so brush the horse off well first. If you are dealing with a thick, curly or matted coat, you get on faster with a coarse blade set from the same 5-in-1 range: it has the same cutting heights, but wider spacing between the teeth.

This blade set is meant for anyone working with a Wahl 5-in-1 clipper who wants one blade set that covers everything. It is in its place for grooming in the stable, for getting a horse ready for a competition and for precise work around the head, neck, ears and legs, in any discipline.

If you have to take a full winter coat off a horse, you work faster with a larger clipper and wider blade sets from our range. If your clipper has an A5 snap-on fitting, you should be looking in the snap-on range and not at 5-in-1.

A small lever slides the head between the five settings, without tools. Always clip a clean, dry coat and brush the horse well first, because sand and dust quickly blunt a head. Apply oil before you start and repeat regularly while clipping.

Does this fit my clipper?
Only Wahl clippers with a 5-in-1 fitting, such as the Adore, Admire, Adelar and Arco. If you are not sure which system your clipper uses, or if it is not listed here, get in touch before you order.

Does this blade set work on an Andis, Aesculap or Heiniger?
No. Those clippers use A5 snap-on blade sets. Wahl's 5-in-1 system is a different system and the blade sets are not interchangeable.

Which cutting heights do I get with it?
Five fixed positions: 0.7 mm, 1.3 mm, 1.9 mm, 2.4 mm and 3 mm.

Is Diamond a separate series?
No, it is a coating. Diamond-like Carbon on stainless steel, applied to make the cutting edge more wear-resistant.

What is the difference with the coarse version?
The same cutting heights, but different tooth spacing. The coarse blade set has teeth set further apart and is therefore better placed on a thick or matted coat. It does not clip any longer.

How do I keep the blade set in good condition?
Lubricate before and during clipping, remove the hair after use and store it dry. Never clip on a wet or sandy coat.

Can I clip a whole horse with this?
You can, but with a 46 mm cutting width it takes a long time. For a full clip you get on faster with a larger clipper with wider blade sets.
