Wash at thirty degrees with similar colours and let the shirt air dry: Joline rules out the tumble dryer, and that spares the ruffles as well. Treat stains on the cotton collar straight away, because that is where discolouration shows first. Choose this shirt for a rider of about fifteen or sixteen who wants a dressy but airy show shirt in summer, and for whom light blue may be the colour. The perforations in the side panels are small holes in the fabric; they stay open as long as you do not wring the shirt. What do we know about the fibres?

Joline's statement stops at 68% nylon for the fabric and cotton for the collar. Which fibres make up the other 32%, and how much cotton is in the collar, the manufacturer does not mention. Those missing figures are on the care label in the shirt.

Which size is still available in this colour?

Only 170-176. Joline carries the model in a wider size range, but no longer in light blue; the smaller heights are not available here.

Can an adult rider wear this shirt?

That is possible, provided a slender build. 170-176 is Joline's largest youth size and the cut is slim, so there is not much margin.

Does this model have cuffs?

No. The puff sleeve is short and ends without a cuff. The cotton cuff with decorative buttons is found on the long-sleeved model of the Josephine.

Are those openings in the sides mesh panels?

No, they are perforations: small holes in the fabric itself, in the side panels. Joline does not speak of a separate mesh panel.

How do I wash a pastel colour?

Thirty degrees with similar colours, according to Joline, and not in the tumble dryer. A light shade asks above all for quick treatment of sweat and sand marks; leaving them works against you.

May light blue go into the ring?

The FEI showjumping rules prescribe a white version in several places: article 207.2.3 names the white collar, the white tie, stock or choker, with a long sleeve the white cuffs, and for children and pony riders the whole shirt white. With this pastel shade you fall outside that. The Belgian dressage rules keep to a white shirt. Where a class prescribes no colour, the point does not arise, and for schooling nothing applies.
