Heiniger SAPHIR Clipper Blade #10 (1.5 mm)

After every clip, brush the hair out from between the teeth and apply clipper oil to the cutting edge before you put the blade set away. Oil regularly while clipping as well: the oil carries off heat and keeps the blades running smoothly. Store the blade set dry, because moisture and hair residue attack the cutting edge faster.

Clip a clean, dry coat: sand and mud blunt a cutting edge faster than the hair itself. Have your blade sets and blades sharpened in good time instead of using them until they pull: a blunt cutting edge runs hotter and gives an uneven clip. Maddelin sharpens blades and blade sets of all brands; hand them in properly cleaned. Combine this blade set with a shorter one such as the #15 (1.2 mm) for finishing, or with a wide one for the bulk of the work.

The #10 is a good first blade set if you only want one cutting height. It works for a full or partial clip in autumn and winter, for sport horses in hard work, and for tidying up the head, neck and legs before a competition or a photo shoot.

If you mainly do large areas, the wide #10WF with the same 1.5 mm gets on faster. If you want to clip shorter, look at the #15 (1.2 mm) or the #15W (1.0 mm); if you want to leave more coat, at the #9 (2.0 mm), the #10W (2.3 mm) or the #7 (3.2 mm). If you have an Xperience, Xplorer or Progress, you order a screw-on blade set such as the 31/15 instead of a snap-on blade set.

Does this fit my clipper?
This snap-on blade set fits the Heiniger Saphir and the Heiniger Opal. It does not fit a Heiniger Xperience, Xplorer or Progress, because those work with screw-on blades. If your clipper is not listed, get in touch with us before you order.

How short does the #10 clip?
The cutting height is 1.5 mm. That leaves a short, even coat.

What is the difference with the #15?
The #15 clips shorter, at 1.2 mm. For the rest they work in the same way.

What is the difference with the #10WF?
The cutting height is 1.5 mm for both. The #10WF is the wide version, which gets on faster over large areas; this #10 has a standard width and steers more easily around shapes.

What is the Red line version?
Red line is the newer version of the Heiniger blade sets #10, #15, #30 and #40. Those blade sets are sharpened to an optimised grind, specially hardened and chrome finished, and according to Heiniger they build up less heat. The cutting height per number stays the same.

Can I use this blade set on both my Saphir and my Opal?
Yes. Heiniger confirms that the blade sets of both machines are interchangeable with each other.

Why does my blade set run hot?
Usually because of too little oil or a blunt cutting edge. Oil regularly while clipping and have the blade set sharpened as soon as it pulls or moves more slowly through the coat.

Can this blade set be sharpened?
Yes. Maddelin sharpens blades and blade sets of all brands. Hand them in properly cleaned.
