Size chart

The correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size, so that your equipment fits perfectly - whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only provides more comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as specifically as possible. Since fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.

Product Information
The Schockemöhle SP Valencia is a dressage bridle with an anatomically shaped headpiece and a noseband with a cut-out at the cheeks. It is intended for riders who want a well-turned-out, classic picture in training and at competitions, with genuine attention to pressure distribution. Available in black, in sizes Cob and Full.
About this bridle
With a dressage bridle, what matters most is how it sits on the head. The SP Valencia therefore starts from a specially designed headpiece, inspired by the Equitus models from Schockemöhle. That headpiece spreads pressure over a larger surface rather than concentrating it on a narrow strip, which benefits wearing comfort during longer sessions.
The noseband has a cut-out at the cheeks. That cut-out keeps the leather from running flat across the cheekbones, so pressure points in that spot are avoided and the noseband follows the head more softly. Headpiece and noseband are both softly padded, and the D-rings are given a padded finish as well.
Visually the model stays quiet. The browband is kept slim and made with a double row, and a fine piping with decorative stones runs along the straps. Enough to finish it off, not so much that the bridle draws attention away from your horse. That understated line makes it usable in the dressage arena without feeling excessive at home in training.
The bridle is supplied in black, in sizes Cob and Full. It is conceived as a bridle for daily use as much as for the arena: you set it up properly once and it carries on doing what it should.
Key benefits
- Anatomical headpiece that spreads pressure over a larger surface
- Cut-out in the noseband prevents pressure points on the cheeks
- Soft padding on headpiece and noseband for more wearing comfort
- Padded D-rings, finished right down to the detail
- Slim browband with a fine binding: smart yet understated
- Available in Cob and Full, so also for finer-built horses
Practical advice
Measure what you ride today before you order. Full is the usual size for most warmbloods, Cob is shorter and narrower and suits a finer head or a larger pony. Above all, compare the length of the cheekpiece and the noseband with your current bridle.
Adjust the padded headpiece so it lies flat behind the ears without sliding, and check that the cut-out actually falls beside the cheekbone rather than on it. New leather needs a little time: ride it in quietly first and check after a few rides whether the buckles still belong on the same holes.
For care, a set routine is enough. Wipe the leather down with a slightly damp cloth after every ride, let it dry at room temperature and away from the heating, and treat it regularly with saddle soap or a leather balm. Hang the bridle on a wide bracket so the headpiece keeps its shape.
When to choose this bridle
This bridle suits dressage riders, from ambitious leisure level up to competition level, who want a classic black bridle with a discreet finish and a headpiece designed for comfort. For horses that react sensitively to a narrow headpiece it is a logical choice too.
If you are after something more outspoken, with a crystal browband for instance, our range includes models with a more eye-catching finish. If you specifically want a bridle with a flash strap, look at a model where that flash strap is explicitly listed: for this model the product information says nothing about it.
