With anatomical bridles it pays to measure accurately: because the headpiece and the noseband have a fixed shape, such a model is less forgiving than a classic straight bridle. Measure the length of your current noseband and headpiece and compare.

When fitting, pay particular attention to where the noseband sits. A wide noseband should not come too low, so that it stays on the bone and not on the soft part of the nose. Keep about two fingers of room under the noseband and a hand under the throatlash. Also check that the cut-back of the headpiece really falls around the base of the ear, and not in front of or behind it.

Clean the leather after use with leather soap and treat it regularly with leather balm or leather oil. Around the crystals on the browband it is best to work with a slightly damp cloth rather than a lot of product, so that no residue is left between the stones.

Choose the SP Pisa if you want an anatomically cut bridle with a wide noseband and a smart but understated finish, for dressage or jumping. It is a logical choice for the rider who trains daily and also wants to be able to use the same bridle at competitions.

For a pony or a Shetland this bridle is not suitable: it comes in Full and Cob.
