Clean the blade after every use with the brush and put a few drops of oil on it. Oil keeps the teeth cool and lets them run freely; a dry blade moves through the coat more slowly and wears out faster. Work on a clean, dry coat, because sand between the teeth is the quickest way to blunt a blade.

Charge the battery fully before you leave for a competition and take the USB cable with you. For the whole body you are better off with a full-size clipper from our range, keeping the Piccolini for the finishing; the two complement each other well.

Choose the Piccolini if you mainly do detail work: tidying up the head, neatening the ears, finishing the jawline or quickly correcting something before a competition. Its size and low noise level also make it usable on horses that do not like standing still for a large machine.

If you have to clip a whole horse, this is not the right machine. In that case choose a full clipper from our range, such as the Heiniger Saphir or the Wahl KM Supera, and use the Piccolini for the finishing afterwards.
