Product Information
The Pikeur Rodrigo Grip II is a pair of men's riding breeches in the Knee Grip version: silicone knee patches give you hold at the point where your leg makes contact with the saddle. The cotton-rich stretch fabric breathes and moves with you, and the elasticated leg finish closes flat inside your riding boots. Breeches for daily training and stable work.
About these breeches
The Rodrigo has been Pikeur's classic men's model for years. The Grip II is based on it: the same straight, classic cut, but finished with silicone knee patches. That combination makes it a pair of breeches that looks smart and is functional in the arena at the same time.
The Knee Grip version means the silicone sits only at knee height, and not across the whole seat. You therefore get hold exactly where your leg touches the saddle, while your seat stays free. That is pleasant if you ride a lot in light seat, often change position or simply do not want to sit glued in place. In sitting dressage work a fully gripping seat gives more stability; for jumping, hacking out and varied training work, grip at the knee is often more comfortable.
The fabric consists of 64% cotton, 29% polyamide and 7% elastane. The high cotton content makes the breeches breathable and pleasant on the skin, the polyamide provides strength and the elastane gives the stretch you need to move freely in the saddle and around the stable. The result is a supple fabric that does not feel like a technical sports weave, but does give with you.
At the bottom of the leg, on the outside, there is a stretch insert. It makes pulling the breeches on easier and ensures the leg lies flat inside your riding boot, without folds or pressure points on the calf. You notice that detail above all on longer rides or during a long stable day.
The cut is classic and straight, with a modern finish. So you wear the Rodrigo Grip II just as easily for work around the stable as for a training session, without immediately standing there in competition dress.
