Product Information
The Ego7 Rita Top is a women's short-sleeve competition shirt with mesh on the sleeves and back, concealed buttons and an invisible zip at the shoulder. The white collar carries an embroidered logo. For women riders who want an airy shirt with a neat collar on warm show days. At Maddelin in white, in size XS.
About this competition shirt
Ego7 calls this model the Rita Top and positions it as a show shirt with Italian design. The build is what characterises the shirt: on the sleeves and back the brand uses a mesh-type fabric, which opens up those zones, while the front panel stays in the closed fabric. At the front Ego7 works with concealed buttons, so the front stays flat, and at the shoulder there is an invisible zip that makes the shirt easier to put on.
The collar is white and carries an embroidered logo. Ego7 further describes the fabric as light, stretchy and breathable, with a moisture-wicking and quick-drying action, recovering well from creasing and controlling odours, and says the shirt needs little or no ironing. That last point is a practical one at a multi-day show.
What Ego7 does not publish is the fibre composition. Not on the product page, and not elsewhere on ego7.it either. The brand gives only a gentle machine wash as its care instruction, and refers for the details to the care label found in every Ego7 product.
For competition use: in showjumping, FEI Jumping Rules article 207.2.3 requires a white collar and a white tie, stock or choker, and short sleeves are permitted there, including with a jacket; for children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white. In dressage the FEI lays down nothing about the shirt, but the Belgian rules do require a white shirt and, without a jacket, sleeves that cover at least the shoulders. Rules differ by federation, discipline, level and country and change from time to time, so check the current rulebook of your own federation.
The limitations here are very concrete: at Maddelin there is one size left, XS, and one colour. The mesh on the sleeves and back makes the shirt airy but also more see-through and more delicate than a closed fabric; take care with velcro and buckles. And a short-sleeve shirt in mesh is not meant for cold days.
