Always take the shims out of the pad before you wash it. Then wash at 30°C and let it air dry. The shims themselves do not belong in the machine.

When setting it up, start without shims and ride like that a few times. Only add shims when you notice the saddle dropping at the front or the back, and change one place at a time: that way you know what has which effect. If you are in any doubt about saddle fit, always have a saddle fitter look at it, because this pad adjusts the balance but does not replace a well-fitting saddle. For a coordinated set, combine it with LeMieux tendon boots, an ear bonnet and a saddle bag from the range.

This pad is a good choice if you want to be able to adjust your saddle's balance without a separate half pad, if your horse's muscling changes or it has slight asymmetry, or if you ride young horses in development. It fits under jumping and eventing saddles in a close contact cut, for training and competition.

If you ride dressage, a dressage model from our range makes more sense: the close contact cut is too short for a dressage flap. If you want a pad with a pronounced finish, shine or decorative binding, this understated plain model fits that picture less well and you are better off looking at a quilted or glossy model. And if you ride a pony or a small horse, size Full may be too generous, as this pad is only offered in Full.
