Adjust the noseband until two fingers fit flat underneath, then set the flash strap, which you keep looser and place under the bit. If you are unsure whether your horse needs the flash, start without it and add it when you find you want to keep the bit steadier.

Care for the leather with glycerine soap and feed it with paraffin oil. Work over the plaiting with a soft brush or cloth: soap and grease residue easily gets caught in the braids. Vegetable-tanned leather needs a little more attention during the breaking-in period.

This bridle suits riders who prefer a classic, understated look over shine and stones, and who at the same time want an anatomical headpiece and a refined finish. Thanks to the removable flash strap it works for training, for lessons and at competitions, and it suits both dressage and jumping work.

If you want a distinctly glossy look for the dressage arena, a patent leather model from our range makes more sense. If you are after a bridle where the noseband and cheekpieces are built into one continuous strap, you end up with an anatomical model. And if you ride without a bit, a hackamore bridle is the obvious choice.

What type of noseband does this bridle have?

What is the advantage of a roller buckle?
The roller turns with the strap as you pull it through. That adjusts more smoothly and spares the leather compared with a fixed buckle.

Why do the cheek buckles sit below the eye?
That keeps them out of the horse's field of vision and gives the bridle a calmer look.
