Product Information

The Pikeur Teddy Cap 8830 is a cap from the Athleisure line, Pikeur's leisure range. It is made of teddy fabric, which places it firmly in the colder half of the year. You wear it around the yard, while grooming, in the show car park or simply on the way there. The benefit is straightforward: your head stays warm and you still look put together, without reaching for a beanie.

About this cap

At Pikeur, the Athleisure line sits next to the competition and training collections. It covers the clothing and accessories you put on before and after riding: hoodies, jackets, sneakers, socks and caps. This cap belongs to that family. It is not a riding helmet and offers no protection; riding calls for a certified riding helmet.

Teddy fabric has a long, soft pile that traps air. That is exactly why you find the material mostly in autumn and winter collections: it feels warm and sits softly on the head. Pikeur does not publish a full composition for this cap. If it appears on the label, we are happy to pass it on before you decide.

The colour the manufacturer documents for this model is pale almond: a light natural shade that works with the quiet tones from the same line. Pikeur does not say whether the model exists in other colours.

On the closure, the adjustment range, the sizing and the washing instructions, Pikeur releases nothing for this cap. So follow the label sewn inside, and ask us if you want it settled before you order. Better to leave something out than to guess at it.

A teddy cap is winter clothing. It comes along for grooming, lungeing and the drive to a show. For riding itself you put on a certified riding helmet; a cap never takes its place.

Long-pile fabric picks up hay dust and horse hair easily. A lint roller or a soft clothes brush keeps the pile neat; rubbing with a damp cloth only pushes the dust deeper in. If the cap has caught the rain, dry it flat and never on a hot radiator, because heat flattens the pile.

Since Pikeur publishes no washing instructions for this model, go by the label inside the cap. If you are unsure, call or email us and we will check the label before you order.

Choose this cap if you want something warm on your head in the cold season that still looks well kept: around the yard, at the arena, on the road. It suits riders who already wear the Athleisure line and like to keep their accessories in the same register.

If you are after sun protection for the summer, a light woven or mesh cap from our range makes more sense: teddy is too warm for July. If you want your ears fully covered in a frost, a beanie or an ear warmer from our range will take you further. And if you are looking for head protection to ride in, the riding helmets are the place to look, not the caps.

Draag de pet tijdens het rijden of casual; was volgens het wasvoorschrift op het label voor het langste behoud van pasvorm en kleur.

Is this a riding helmet?

No. This is a cap with no protective function. Riding calls for a certified riding helmet.

What is the cap made of?

Teddy fabric, a material with a long, soft pile. Pikeur does not publish the full composition for this model; ask us and we will read the label for you.

Which colour does this cap come in?

The manufacturer documents the model in pale almond, a light natural shade. Pikeur gives no information about other colours.

Is the cap adjustable?

The manufacturer does not say. If you want to know before ordering, we will check the cap in the shop for you.

How do I wash it?

Follow the label sewn inside the cap. In between, keep the pile neat with a lint roller or a soft clothes brush, and dry the cap flat rather than on a radiator.

When would you wear a cap like this?

In autumn and winter, out of the saddle: around the yard, while grooming and lungeing, on the way to a show or simply at the weekend.

What does 8830 stand for?

It is the model number Pikeur gives this cap. Athleisure is the name of the line it belongs to.

Can it be worn under a riding helmet?

It is not designed for that. If you want extra warmth under your helmet, choose a thin helmet liner cap that fits under the chin strap so the fit of the helmet does not change.
