Size guide

A correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size so that your equipment fits perfectly—whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only ensures greater comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as precisely as possible. Because fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.
How to measure correctly?
For the best results, always measure with a flexible tape measure, close to the body but without tightening.
-
Chest circumference: measure around the widest part of the chest
-
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips
-
Inseam length: measure from groin to ankle
-
Head circumference (helmets): measure just above the eyebrows and ears
-
Calf circumference & height (boots/chaps): measure the widest part of the calf and the height from heel to hollow of the knee
If you are in doubt between two sizes? We usually advise choosing the larger size for extra comfort, unless otherwise stated with the product.
At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
Nathe Pelham – Soft Mullen Mouth with Port | Long Shanks
The Nathe Pelham Soft Mullen Mouth with port and long shanks is the ideal choice for riders who need extra control without compromising on comfort and softness in the horse's mouth. This bit combines an anatomically shaped mouthpiece with refined leverage, allowing you to give clear aids with respect for sensitive horses.
The flexible plastic mouthpiece with a subtle port offers extra tongue relief and prevents pressure on the middle of the mouth. This makes the bit particularly suitable for horses with a thick or sensitive tongue, or horses that struggle to relax with traditional metal bits. The even pressure distribution ensures a calm, stable connection without pinching or folding points.
The long Pelham shanks provide refined leverage, giving you, as a rider, more control in situations where extra limitation is needed, such as with strong horses or on the course. Thanks to the option of riding with one or two reins, you can easily adjust the action to your riding style and training goals.
The hypoallergenic plastic is temperature-neutral and is usually very well accepted, even by horses that react sensitively to metal. A thoughtful combination of softness, control, and precision.
Why choose the Nathe Pelham Soft Mullen Mouth:
Port: extra tongue relief and more comfort
Soft plastic: ideal for sensitive horses
Even pressure distribution: prevents pinching and unrest
Long shanks: refined leverage and control
Flexible core: sturdy but comfortable
Versatile use: with single or double rein
