Size guide

A correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size so that your equipment fits perfectly—whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only ensures greater comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as precisely as possible. Because fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.
How to measure correctly?
For the best results, always measure with a flexible tape measure, close to the body but without tightening.
-
Chest circumference: measure around the widest part of the chest
-
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips
-
Inseam length: measure from groin to ankle
-
Head circumference (helmets): measure just above the eyebrows and ears
-
Calf circumference & height (boots/chaps): measure the widest part of the calf and the height from heel to hollow of the knee
If you are in doubt between two sizes? We usually advise choosing the larger size for extra comfort, unless otherwise stated with the product.
At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
The NORTON Wide Cavesson is a versatile and reliable cavesson for riders who want to train consciously and subtly. This cavesson is designed for groundwork, lunging, and riding, with or without a bit, and offers a direct but gentle action. The wide, padded noseband distributes pressure evenly over the nose, ensuring comfort and clear aids without harshness.
The use of sturdy buffalo leather gives the cavesson a robust appearance and a long lifespan, while the soft cowhide on the inside increases comfort for the horse. Thanks to the three rings on the noseband, you can adjust the action to the training goal: central for straight work or sideways for refinement and flexion.
This cavesson is particularly suitable for riders working on balance, suppleness, and communication, both with young horses and more advanced horses. The straight browband and cleanly finished design provide a functional, professional look without unnecessary details.
Maddelin's tip: use the middle ring for young or sensitive horses for a stable, calm action and only switch to the side rings later for more refinement.
