Product Information
The Pikeur Navaro Grip is a pair of men's riding breeches for cold days, in a Full Grip version and made from a heat-retaining fabric of 89% polyamide and 11% elastane. They are intended for riders who keep riding through the winter and then want breeches that keep them warm, move with them and sit stably in the saddle.
About these breeches
The Navaro is the winter model in Pikeur's men's range. What sets it apart from ordinary breeches is the fabric. It is built to hold on to your own body heat instead of letting it escape. So you get thermal insulation without the breeches having to be thick or stiff, which is usually the biggest objection to a pair of winter breeches: you want to stay warm, but you also want to keep feeling what your horse is doing.
The polyamide fibre contains oxide additives and particles of coffee beans. These give the fabric temperature-regulating properties: they help keep your body temperature more stable while you ride. That same fibre structure also provides an odour-absorbing and antibacterial effect, which you notice when you wear the breeches several days in a row or after a long ride.
The composition is 89% polyamide and 11% elastane. That elastane percentage delivers a fine stretch: the breeches give as you mount and during sitting work, and then pull tight again. The fit is close, which matters in winter breeches, because a pair that bulges under your boot or chaps lets cold air in.
This version is Full Grip: the entire seat is covered with silicone. That gives you contact across the full width of your seat and keeps you stable in the saddle, even when the saddle is damp or cold. In winter that is exactly useful: a wet or damp saddle is slippery, and a full silicone seat compensates for that.
In short, the Navaro Grip is meant for the months when you would normally rather not get on. It combines heat retention with stretch and with grip that keeps your seat quiet.
