Description
The Premiere blade set for the Falco and the Kite Li-Ion consists of a top blade and a bottom blade and replaces the blades of your Premiere clipper. With a cutting height of 1.5 mm and a cutting width of 80 mm you get on quickly over a horse's body. Intended for anyone who wants to keep their Premiere machine sharp without having to guess at the right fit.
About this blade
A clipper with separate blades always works with two parts. The bottom blade lies still against the coat and determines how much hair is left, the top blade moves quickly over it and cuts the hair off. This set contains both parts, so that you replace them together and they stay nicely run in against each other.
The cutting height is 1.5 mm. That is a short, neat clip: the coat stays even and short, but a layer of hair is left. For anyone clipping a horse fully or in a clip pattern, that is a usable standard length.
At 80 mm the blade is wide. A wider clipping path means fewer passes over the same area, and therefore less time on the neck, the shoulder and the body. It is on large areas that you notice that difference most.
Premiere states that thanks to a special hardening technique the blades can clip for up to 300 hours before they have to be sharpened again. How long you get out of them in practice depends on the coat: sand, dust and mud wear every blade faster than a clean coat.
The set fits the Premiere Falco (801944) and the Premiere Kite Li-Ion (801945). For the Premiere Merlin Duo you need different blades.
Key benefits
- Cutting height of 1.5 mm for a short, even clip
- Cutting width of 80 mm, so you get on faster over large areas
- Specially hardened version, intended to stay sharp for a long time
- Top and bottom blade in one set, so always a matched pair
- Exact fit on the Premiere Falco and Kite Li-Ion
- Simple to fit, with no changes to the machine
When to choose this product
Choose this set when you use a Premiere Falco or a Premiere Kite Li-Ion and your blades are due for replacement, or when you want to keep a second set to hand for a long clipping day. The cutting height of 1.5 mm is suitable for clipping horses fully and for clip patterns.
If you clip with a Premiere Merlin Duo, you do not need this set: for that there are the large cutting blade and the small cutting blade for the Merlin. If you want to do very fine detail work on the head, ears or legs, a small trimming blade is better suited to that than this wide blade.
Fit
This set fits the Premiere Falco (801944) and the Premiere Kite Li-Ion (801945) and fits without any changes to the clipper. It does not fit other clippers, including the Premiere Merlin Duo. You get a top blade and a bottom blade as a matched pair, with a cutting height of 1.5 mm and a cutting width of 80 mm. If your clipper is not listed, get in touch with us before you order.

Expert advice
Oil your blades every few minutes while clipping. Oil keeps the blades cool and lets them run smoothly over each other; a dry blade gets warm and goes blunt faster. After clipping you brush the hairs away, wipe off the dirt and apply another film of oil before you put the machine away. Store the blades dry, so that they do not rust.
If you notice that the blade moves more slowly through the coat, gets warmer than usual or leaves hair standing, it is time to sharpen or replace. Top and bottom blade are best sharpened together, because they work as a pair. If you have them sharpened, hand them in properly cleaned. You will find clipper oil and the sharpening service with us in the range.
Use & care
Replace the top and bottom blade together, because the two wear in against each other. Oil the blades every few minutes while clipping; a dry blade gets hot and goes blunt faster. After clipping, brush away the hairs, wipe off the dirt, apply a fresh coat of oil and store the blades dry to prevent rust.
If the blade moves more slowly through the coat, runs hotter than usual or leaves hair standing, have the set sharpened together or replace it. Hand it in properly cleaned.
Frequently asked questions
Does this fit my clipper?
This set fits the Premiere Falco (801944) and the Premiere Kite Li-Ion (801945). It does not fit other machines, nor the Premiere Merlin Duo. If your machine is not listed here, do get in touch with us before you order.
How short does this set clip?
The cutting height is 1.5 mm. So a short, even layer of hair is left standing.
What is in the pack?
A top blade and a bottom blade, together as a set.
Why is a width of 80 mm of interest?
The wider the clipping path, the fewer passes you need over the same area. On the neck, shoulder and body you therefore work faster.
How long do these blades last?
Premiere states up to 300 hours of clipping before sharpening is needed. In practice that depends strongly on how clean the coat is: sand and mud wear blades much faster.
Can I have these blades sharpened?
Yes. We sharpen blades of all makes and machines. Hand them in properly cleaned, because dirty blades cost extra.
Do I always have to replace top and bottom blade together?
That is the wisest thing to do. The two blades run in against each other, so combining a new blade with a heavily worn counterpart rarely gives a good result.
How do I know my blade is blunt?
The blade pulls at the hair, moves more slowly through the coat, leaves lines behind or gets warm faster than usual.
