The men's competition polo from Cavalleria Toscana is a white polo with short sleeves and a button fastening, made in technical piqué. About this competition polo

Piqué is a woven or knitted structured fabric with small diamonds in the surface. That structure makes the fabric somewhat firmer than a smooth jersey and lets air through between the raised points. Cavalleria Toscana describes this polo as a competition polo in technical piqué with buttons at the front and short sleeves, and calls the fabric breathable, bi-stretch, quick-drying and easy to care for.

The composition is known, though. For this item Cavalleria Toscana states the fibre composition itself, and it consists of three separate fabric parts: the main fabric is polyamide 100 %, the second fabric polyamide 75 % with elastane 25 %, and the third fabric cotton 100 %. Short sleeves in the arena. In showjumping the FEI rules require a white collar and a white tie, stock or choker, and short sleeves are permitted, including with a jacket. For children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white; this polo is white. If the ground jury decides in very warm weather that riders may compete without a jacket, the requirement that the shirt has sleeves still stands. In dressage the international rules contain no shirt provision and only the requirement of a white or off-white stock or tie applies, while the Belgian rules require a white shirt and, without a jacket, sleeves covering at least the shoulders.

A polo is not a shirt. That is the point to weigh. A polo collar and a polo fastening look different from a classic competition collar with a continuous row of buttons, and some classes and federations expressly describe a shirt. At the LRV a white polo is in fact literally named as a possibility. Rules differ by federation, by discipline and by level and change regularly, so check the rules of your own federation before you start in a polo.

What is left to know. The manufacturer also gives the washing instructions for this item: 30 degrees or lower on a mild programme, do not bleach, no tumble dryer, iron at low temperature and do not dry-clean. The fabric weight and the country of manufacture are not given. In this range men's sizes 48 and 52 are available, each time in white.
