Product Information
The Samshield Marceau is a pair of men's riding breeches in the Full Grip version, with a breathable stretch fabric and a refined, understated finish. Perforations at calf height let heat escape, the anti-crease and anti-pilling finish keeps the breeches looking neat, and the fabric offers UPF 50+. Breeches for riders who combine stability in the saddle with a well-groomed appearance.
About these breeches
The Marceau is the men's model from Samshield, with a polished, understated design. The embroidered Samshield logo is the only visible brand detail; for the rest the breeches stay quiet, which makes them wearable in the arena and beyond.
The version is Full Grip: the entire seat is finished in silicone. That gives you hold across your whole seat, from the inside of the thighs right into the saddle. In sitting work, in exercises where you need to stay deep and still, and on a young or lively horse, this is the grip type that gives the most stability. The flip side is that you slide less easily in the saddle, which can bother you if you rise to the trot a lot or ride in a light seat.
The fabric is breathable and elastic, so the breeches sit close while still allowing full freedom of movement. The exact composition is not stated by the manufacturer, so we make no claims about it. What is certain is the UPF 50+ rating of the fabric.
At calf height there is a perforation. It lets heat escape at the spot where your leg, caught between boot and saddle, gets the least air, which makes the difference on long rides and warm days.
The breeches were given an anti-crease and anti-pilling finish. Anti-crease means the fabric creases less quickly, even after a day in the saddle or in the car on the way to a competition. Anti-pilling means that bobbles form less quickly in the places where the fabric rubs. Together they keep the breeches looking neat for longer, even after repeated washing. The Marceau is machine washable.
At the front there is an elastic slash pocket with room for small essentials; at the back, a button closure on the back pocket finishes things off neatly.
