Size guide

A correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size so that your equipment fits perfectly—whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only ensures greater comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as precisely as possible. Because fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.
How to measure correctly?
For the best results, always measure with a flexible tape measure, close to the body but without tightening.
-
Chest circumference: measure around the widest part of the chest
-
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips
-
Inseam length: measure from groin to ankle
-
Head circumference (helmets): measure just above the eyebrows and ears
-
Calf circumference & height (boots/chaps): measure the widest part of the calf and the height from heel to hollow of the knee
If you are in doubt between two sizes? We usually advise choosing the larger size for extra comfort, unless otherwise stated with the product.
At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
Metalab Loose Ring Elite – Mullen Barrel Mouth | Gentle Action & Stable Position
The Metalab Loose Ring Elite bit with Mullen Barrel mouthpiece is designed for riders who strive for soft, clear communication with their horse. Thanks to the slightly curved 14 mm Mullen Barrel mouthpiece, this bit offers stable and even pressure distribution in the mouth, making it particularly suitable for horses that react sensitively to stronger or moving bits.
The loose rings allow the bit to move freely in the horse's mouth. This stimulates saliva production and encourages the horse to accept the bit better. At the same time, this type of bit helps to reduce tension and create a softer connection between the rider's hand and the horse's mouth.
The Mullen Barrel mouthpiece has a slightly curved shape that rests comfortably on the tongue and provides constant, even pressure without sharp pressure points or pinching. The rolling core ensures a calm and stable position in the mouth, which can be particularly pleasant for young, sensitive, or tense horses that need more stability.
Made from durable stainless steel, this bit is strong, easy to maintain, and suitable for daily use during training or groundwork. For riders looking for a gentle bit that promotes calmness and acceptance in the mouth, this model is a reliable choice.
