Choose the size based on your horse's head, not on his height. Full is the usual size for an average warmblood head, Cob for a finer or shorter head. If you are unsure, measure your current bridle: lay the noseband, cheekpiece and headpiece flat and compare the lengths.

Adjust the noseband so that two fingers fit flat between the strap and the nasal bone, and place it high enough that it does not sit on the soft part of the nose. Only fasten the flash strap afterwards, and always looser than the noseband. Then check that the bit still sits quietly in the corner of the mouth and that the browband is not pressing against the base of the ears.

Leather stays supple if you wipe it after every ride with a lightly damp cloth, especially around the bit and the noseband where sweat and saliva remain. Treat it a few times per season with leather balm or leather grease and let it dry at room temperature, never near a stove or in full sun. Store the bridle on a wide bridle rack so the headpiece keeps its shape.

If you mainly work over fences and want more room around the nostrils, a model with a grackle noseband from our range makes more sense. If you want maximum pressure distribution behind the ears, look at a model with an extra wide, cut-back headpiece. And if you want a bridle that stands out with crystals or contrast colours, you will end up with the more decorative models; the TRESS is deliberately understated.
