When choosing, check the combination of colour and size, as not every size is available in both colours. Dusk comes in 122-128 (age 7-8), 134-140 (age 9-10) and 158-164 (age 13-14). Aqua comes in 122-128 (age 7-8), 146-152 (age 11-12) and 158-164 (age 13-14). LeMieux itself uses age sizes in two-year steps. If in doubt, measure your child, compare with the LeMieux size chart and get in touch with the shop.

For washing, LeMieux gives these instructions for its grip styles: machine wash at 30°C, separately and inside out, with a mild detergent and no fabric softener. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron and do not dry clean. Let the leggings dry naturally and always check the care label.

Wear the Lizzie Mesh with long riding boots or with jodhpur boots and half chaps, whatever your daughter is used to. On cooler days, simply add a warmer layer on top; the mesh is only on the thigh.

Choose the Lizzie Mesh if your daughter wants lightweight leggings for lessons, schooling and pony camps, with grip at the knee. If she wants grip across the whole seat, the LeMieux Remi Bregging or the Freya Pro riding breeches are a better match, both with full grip. If she prefers classic riding breeches with a fastening and pockets, the LeMieux Izzy riding breeches are an alternative.

For the colder months, leggings with mesh are not the logical choice. The fleece-lined LeMieux Ella Winter breggings are a better fit there.

What does knee grip mean?
With knee grip, the silicone sits only on the inside of the knee. With full grip, it runs across the whole seat and the inside of the legs. The Lizzie Mesh has knee grip.

What is the difference between these leggings and riding breeches?
Riding breeches fasten with a zip and button. These leggings do not: you pull them on using the elasticated waistband, just like sports leggings.

Can my daughter wear these leggings at a competition?
Dusk and Aqua are schooling colours. At competitions, white and beige are the norm. What is compulsory is set out in the rules of your discipline and federation.

On the thigh. It is an open fabric that lets air through, handy on warm days.
