Take white if this is to be your competition shirt and navy if it is mainly for warming up, schooling and classes with a free colour. Use the loops at the sides as soon as you ride with a separate stock tie: without loops it inevitably rides up during a course. Combine it with a white stock or tie and with breeches from the LeMieux range. Wash the shirt at thirty degrees with similar colours and a non-biological detergent, without bleach and without dry cleaning, let it air dry and do not use the tumble dryer. Iron at a low temperature and not over the logo. That keeps the magnetic fastening in the collar intact.

Choose the Sophia if you want a women's shirt that finishes closed and flat at the neck and that keeps a separate stock tie in place. It suits dressage, showjumping and the dressage test of an eventing competition, where short sleeves are permitted. If you need long sleeves, look within the range for a long-sleeved model, for instance the Equestro competition shirt with long sleeves. What is this shirt made of?

LeMieux calls the main fabric a technical performance fabric, but does not publish a fibre composition with percentages for this model. As soon as the manufacturer supplies it, it will appear in the technical features.

How does the magnetic fastening in the collar work?

The stand-up collar closes with magnets instead of small buttons. You press the band together; on the outside the fastening stays invisible, so that the line at the neck stays flat.

What are the loops at the sides for?

To secure a separate stock tie, so that it does not ride up while you are riding. LeMieux itself recommends the shirt in combination with a ready-tied stock.

Is the zone under the sleeve made in mesh?

LeMieux calls it a breathable zone under the sleeve and does not say in which material. Mesh is not mentioned by the manufacturer.

Can I wear the navy version at a competition?

That depends on the class. In showjumping, FEI Jumping Rules article 207.2.3 asks for a white collar, a white tie, stock or choker and, with long sleeves, white cuffs; short sleeves are permitted there and for children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white. The Belgian dressage rules ask for a white shirt. For such classes, take the white version. Rules differ by federation, by discipline, by level and by country and change regularly, so check the current rules of your own federation.

Which size should I take?

We stock the shirt in XS (EU34 - IT38), S (EU36 - IT40) and M (EU38 - IT42), with the EU and IT equivalent for each size. Navy comes only in XS and S. LeMieux does not publish a size guide in centimetres.

How do I wash this shirt?

Machine wash up to thirty degrees with similar colours and a non-biological detergent, do not bleach, no dry cleaning, air dry and not in the tumble dryer. Ironing is allowed at a low temperature, away from the logo.
