Who is it for?

For riders and trainers who want to use a simple adjustable aid during lunging to encourage the horse towards a longer and lower frame.

When to use it?

During lunging sessions when you want to work on a forward-downward neck position and stretching the topline.

Which discipline?

Not discipline-specific. The lunging aid can be used as part of the training of horses from various disciplines.

When is an alternative better?

If you are looking for a more extensive lunging system with multiple adjustment options, another system might be more suitable. Also, if you are not familiar with correctly adjusting lunging aids, guidance from an experienced trainer is recommended.

• Brand: LeMieux
• Product: Longeing aid
• Soft rope material
• Encourages a longer and lower frame
• Promotes top line stretching
• Attaches to the bit with a snap hook clip
• Adjustable to the desired length

Do not adjust the lunge aidtoo short. The goal is for your horse to have enough room to move forward and down on its own, not for the head to be held in a fixed position.

Start with a looser adjustment and then assess the posture while moving. The correct length depends on the individual horse's conformation and training level.

Before use, check that the clips are correctly attached to the bit and regularly inspect the entire aid for wear or damage. Only use the lunge aid during appropriate and controlled lunge work.

• Attach both snap hooks to the bit rings.
• Adjust the length evenly and generously.
• First, allow your horse to calmly get used to the lunging aid.

What do you use the LeMieux Lunge Aid for?

You use it during lunging to encourage the horse into a longer and lower neck position and to give it space to stretch its topline.

How do you attach the LeMieux Lunge Aid?

The lunge aid is attached to the bit with the provided snap hooks with clips.

Is the LeMieux Lunge Aid adjustable?

Yes. The length of the rope can be adjusted to the horse's build, training level, and desired posture.

How tight should a lunge aid be?

The lunge aid should allow enough room for the horse to find a comfortable forward-downward position on its own. Too short a setting should be avoided.

What is the difference from a more extensive lunging system?

This LeMieux lunge aid has a relatively simple rope construction. More extensive lunging systems can consist of multiple straps and attachment points, thus offering different adjustment options.
