The Ella in Mallow comes in four sizes: 122-128 (age 7-8), 134-140 (age 9-10), 146-152 (age 11-12) and 158-164 (age 13-14). LeMieux gives its children's sizes as an age. Because children of the same age can differ a lot, it is best to measure your child and compare with the LeMieux size chart. If you are torn between two sizes, get in touch with the shop.

For LeMieux breggings with grip, the rule is: machine wash at 30°C, separately, inside out, mild detergent, no fabric softener, no bleach. Do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not dry clean. Check the label inside the breggings too. Empty the zip pocket and the leg pocket before washing.

With a belt through the loops and a tucked-in top, the Ella looks neat during a lesson or a club activity. Thanks to the thin sock-style finish, they fit both in long riding boots and under half chaps.

Choose the unlined Ella if your child wants a pair that is as easy to pull on as leggings but looks like riding breeches, with grip across the seat. They are especially handy in the months when lined breeches feel too warm.

If your child rides outdoors a lot in winter, the fleece-lined LeMieux Ella Winter breggings are the better choice. What is the difference between breggings and riding breeches?
Riding breeches fasten with a zip and button. Breggings do not: you pull them on like leggings. Belt loops and a faux fly do give them the look of riding breeches.

What does full grip mean?
The silicone runs across the seat and the inside of the legs. With knee grip, it sits only on the inside of the knee. Full grip is not reserved for dressage.

What is the difference from the Ella Winter?
The idea behind the model is the same, but the Ella Winter has a fleece lining on the inside. This Ella is unlined and therefore lighter.

How do I wash these breggings?
At 30°C, separately and inside out, with a mild detergent and no fabric softener. Do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not dry clean. Follow the care label.

What pockets does the Ella have?
A deep leg pocket that fits a phone and a zip pocket for small items.

Do the Ella fit in riding boots or under half chaps?
Yes. The lower leg has no inside leg seam and ends in a thin mesh sock-style finish, so very little extra fabric is added.
