About this bridle
This is the dressage version within LeMieux's Arika line: quiet in shape, finished to a high standard and with just enough shine to look smart at a show.
The headpiece is cut wide, anatomically shaped and softly padded. That width has a purpose: the weight of the bridle rests on a larger area behind the ears rather than on a narrow band, so the pressure is better distributed. With horses that are sensitive there, or during a long build-up to a test, you notice it in how relaxed they stay through the poll.
The noseband is anatomically shaped, generously padded and made in patent leather. Anatomically shaped means the strap already follows the line of the nasal bone before you fasten it, so it sits flush along its whole length and stays put. Patent leather gives the typical dressage gloss and keeps its look because it dulls less quickly from dust.
The browband is finished with crystals. They are set neatly, so the bridle never looks gaudy but still catches the light in the arena. The fittings are stainless steel, which means buckles and rings will not rust and stay tidy with little upkeep.
The remaining leather is supple European leather that moulds to your horse's head after a short breaking-in period. The bridle is available in black and in brown, each with silver-coloured fittings, in size Full.

Fit the noseband about two fingers below the cheekbone and leave at least two fingers of room on the nasal bone. Make sure the headpiece lies free behind the ears and that the browband is long enough: if it is too short, it pulls the headpiece forward against the base of the ears.
Patent leather calls for a different approach from ordinary leather. Wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and do not use greasy balm on it, because it will not soak in and leaves streaks. The untreated leather parts, on the other hand, should be cleaned with leather soap and fed afterwards. Around the crystals, work with a dry, soft cloth and keep soap residue away.
Use & care

Wipe the patent leather with a slightly damp cloth, without greasy balm: it does not soak in and leaves streaks. Clean the other leather parts with leather soap and feed them afterwards. Around the crystals, use a dry, soft cloth and leave no soap residue.
