Cob generally suits horses with a finer head, Full a medium to more generous warmblood head. If you are between two sizes, look at which hole you sit on now: if you are on the last hole, take the larger size.

Adjust the flash strap loosely enough for your horse to chew and swallow. The buckle guard belongs between the buckle and the head, not next to it. If you want to ride without it for once, simply pull the loop out of the noseband.

Oiled leather keeps its suppleness if you look after it regularly. Wipe sweat and sand off after every use with a slightly damp cloth and let the bridle dry at room temperature, never near a heater or in full sun. Clean it periodically with saddle soap and then apply a thin layer of leather balm or grease. Store it on a wide hook so the headpiece keeps its shape.

This is first and foremost a bridle for home: daily training, hacking out, lessons and riding-school work. It works across the disciplines, from flatwork to jumping training, and its practical side comes into its own in a yard where a lot of riding is done and the bridle is handled constantly.

If you are mainly after a bridle for the competition arena, with a finer finish or decorative stones on the browband, a model from our range built for that will suit you better. If your horse needs a different noseband type, a grackle or a drop noseband for instance, this bridle is not the right choice. And bear in mind that reins are chosen separately.

The bit clips on the cheekpieces let you change bits quickly, and the throatlash clips onto D-rings on the headpiece and is removable. Yes. The flash loop is recessed into the noseband and removable, so you can ride the bridle with or without a flash strap.

Can I change the bit quickly?
Yes. The cheekpieces have bit clips that let you unclip and replace the bit without taking the bridle apart.

Can I take the bridle fully apart for cleaning?
Yes. The throatlash unclips from the D-rings on the headpiece, which makes the bridle completely demountable.
