Product Information
The Kentucky Sheepskin Short Girth is a short girth with a soft layer of artificial sheepskin on a cotton lining. It is made for saddles with long girth straps, such as a dressage saddle or a mono flap saddle. Its big plus is the care: the whole girth can go into the washing machine at 30 °C, so it is quickly clean again after a sweaty session.
About this dressage girth
Kentucky calls this model the Sheepskin Short Girth; the Dutch name "Wol/Bont" (wool/fur) can be confusing. The sheepskin is artificial and, according to Kentucky, contains no animal materials. The soft layer sits on a cotton lining.
You use a short girth under a saddle whose girth straps reach below the saddle flap. The buckles then sit lower, under your leg, rather than under the flap. Each end has a standard buckle.
This is the simple, straight version. For this model Kentucky mentions no anatomical shape, no elastic and no D-rings. If you want a short sheepskin girth with an anatomical shape, there is the Kentucky Sheepskin Anatomic Short Girth, with a cut-back for the elbows, a D-ring for schooling aids and removable sheepskin.
At Maddelin this girth is available in Black/Natural, in 70 cm: a black girth with natural-coloured fleece in white to cream.
