Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The Kentucky Sheepskin Anatomic Short Girth is an anatomically shaped short girth in synthetic leather with a removable layer of artificial sheepskin. You use it under a dressage saddle or any other saddle with long girth straps. The shape leaves the elbows free, and because the sheepskin comes off with hook and loop, you wash it separately while simply wiping the synthetic leather with Tack Cleaner.
About this dressage girth
Kentucky calls this model the Sheepskin Anatomic Short Girth; the Dutch name uses the word "Wol" (wool), which refers to the look of the lining. It is artificial sheepskin, not real wool. Underneath is a synthetic leather girth reinforced with nylon so it does not stretch. The synthetic leather repels dirt, sweat and water.
The girth is anatomically shaped: it is shaped so the elbows can move freely. Extra keepers hold the ends of the girth straps neatly in place, and there is a D-ring in the centre for schooling aids.
The practical difference from the plain Kentucky Sheepskin Short Girth is in the construction. That girth is one piece that goes into the washing machine. Here you detach the sheepskin with the hook and loop: the sheepskin can be machine washed at 30 °C, while you care for the synthetic leather girth with Tack Cleaner. That way the girth itself does not need to go in the washing machine.
At Maddelin this girth is available in Black/Natural, in 60 cm: a black girth with natural-coloured fleece in white to cream.
