Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
This Kask Star Lady Chrome in Black/Rosegold is a wide-peak riding helmet in the largest shell size, 60/63. It is intended for riders with a head circumference of 60 to 63 cm who ride dressage or show jumping. According to our product data it comes from an older production run: the label states VG1 and ASTM F1163:2015, which matters if you ride at FEI level.
About this riding helmet
What sets this helmet apart from the other Star Lady Chrome versions at Maddelin is the combination of colour, size and production. It comes in Black/Rosegold, only in shell size 60/63, and according to our product data it carries a label with older standards.
Standards on the label. According to our product data, the label of this helmet states VG1 01.040 2014-12 and ASTM F1163:2015. These are the standards of an earlier Kask production. KASK certifies its current production of the Star Lady Chrome to EN 1384:2023 and ASTM F1163-23 (with the SEI label). The standards of your helmet are shown on the label under the liner; a helmet from an older production run may carry an older standard. If the label states only VG1 and ASTM F1163:2015, that is no longer sufficient according to the FEI list from 1 January 2027; from 1 January 2028 VG1 no longer counts at all.
Construction. Kask makes the outer shell of the Star Lady Chrome from ABS and covers it with Prestige fabric, a fabric that Kask describes as waterproof, scratch-resistant and easy to clean. The chrome frame runs around the shell. Inside sits EPS in three densities with two honeycomb ventilation grilles. The removable merino wool liner is held in place by the Click-in System. According to Kask, the Fit System at the back settles against the back of the head by itself. The chin strap is faux leather, the wide peak polyamide 6.6 with the same fabric covering.
Size. In the 60/63 shell, the interchangeable liner sets your size in cm: 60, 61, 62 or 63. With the helmet you choose the liner in your head circumference, and it comes free with the helmet.
Age of the helmet. Kask recommends replacing a helmet 10 years after the production date. With a helmet from an older production run, that date, found inside the helmet, is therefore worth checking before you choose it.
