About this riding helmet
Underneath the crystals is the Kooki, the standard-peak model in the Kooki range. This version comes from Kask's configurator and combines the Shine finish, a gloss shell, with the colour navy. Kask does not publish a separate sheet for this version: how the crystals are placed and how much weight they add is not described anywhere.
What Kask says about the Kooki
Kask describes the Kooki as a very light helmet for every rider, including those who have only just started riding, and intends it for training and competition. The double shell consists of injection-moulded ABS on the outside and EPS with thermoformed polycarbonate on the inside. The ventilation system lets air in at the front and carries warm air out at the back; according to Kask, this helps the helmet dry quickly. The breathable hydrophilic polyester liner unclips from three pins for washing, the chin strap is faux leather and the peak is ABS. According to Kask, the standard Kooki weighs 450 g in the 51-56 shell.

Standards
KASK certifies its current production of the Kooki to EN 1384:2023 and ASTM F1163-23 (with the SEI label). The standards of your helmet are shown on the label under the liner; a helmet from an older production run may carry an older standard. This crystal version is not in Kask's current catalogue, so do check the label if you want to use the helmet in competition.

Fit
This Kooki comes in shell size 51/56. The liner is interchangeable and sets the exact size: on the product page you choose your head circumference in cm, from 51 to 56, and that liner comes free. Measure with a tape measure around your head, just above your eyebrows and ears. Kask states that the helmet must fit precisely, so do not go a size up for comfort. Expert advice
For dressage, the FEI and the dressage test in eventing require a black or dark helmet, and Paardensport Vlaanderen a discreet colour; the rules decide which colours fall under that. Rules differ by federation, discipline, level and country and change regularly: check your federation's current rules.
Clean the shell with water, mild soap and a soft cloth, dabbing around the crystals. Store the helmet in a bag, such as the Kask helmet bag, so the crystals do not get damaged.
Use & care
Push the two parts of the buckle together until they click and tug to check. Let the straps run alongside your ears without covering them and keep the buckle away from your jawbone. Adjust the chin strap until the helmet sits firmly and comfortably; the small rubber ring goes at the end of the strap. Press the side buttons together to open.
Inspect the helmet for cracks or deformation before every ride, and store it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.

Does this helmet have a wide peak?
No, this is a Kooki with a standard peak. The wide peak is on the Kooki Lady.
Which liner should I choose?
Measure your head circumference just above your eyebrows and ears and choose the liner in that size, between 51 and 56 cm. It comes free with the helmet.
Is this helmet suitable for FEI competitions?
The label decides that. If you ride at FEI level, check the label: from 1 January 2027 the FEI only accepts VG1 in combination with one of the main standards, and from 1 January 2028 the FEI requires at least two accepted standards. EN 1384:2023 and ASTM F1163:23 are both on the FEI list. Rules differ by federation, discipline, level and country and change regularly: check your federation's current rules.
Does a helmet offer protection in every accident?
No. According to Kask, a helmet gives limited protection in a fall from the horse and is not made for a kick or for a horse stepping or falling on the rider.
How do I clean the liner?
Unclip it and wash it by hand in cold water or in the washing machine at 30 °C or lower.
