Product Information

Fager Jesper Sweet Iron Snaffle – Loose Ring

Easily switch between tongue relief or bar relief – ideal for sensitive horses

Recognisable horse behaviour

Unstable in the contact

Pulls away or throws its head up when reins are applied

Tries to put its tongue over the bit

Chews, bites or drops the bit

Reacts sensitively to pressure and quickly develops sores or irritations

Jesper is designed to offer two types of comfort with one bit – depending on how you attach it:

Two functions in one bit:

For tongue relief:

Ideal for horses with sensitive tongues and restless mouths.

Encourages a softer connection and calm contact.

For bar relief: (turn the bit over)

Suitable for horses that are stiff, pull back or lean on the bit.

Provides relief on the bars and prevents excessive pressure.

Features of Fager Jesper:

100% smooth surface – prevents chafing, sores and discomfort

No palate interference – comfortable for sensitive horses

Perfect balance point (BP) – maintains stability and promotes clear aids

Sweet Iron – oxidises slightly for a pleasant, sweet taste, promotes salivation and acceptance

Loose rings – more mobility, more finesse in the hand

Please note: Jesper = Bradoon version (smaller rings)
Gustav = Same mouthpiece in Snaffle version (larger rings)

Perfect for riders looking for calmness, balance and comfort – even for the most sensitive horse.

Discover Fager Jesper at Maddelin – specialist in functional & horse-friendly bits.

If in doubt about the correct bit choice, consult a bit fitter or instructor.

Regularly check the corners of your horse's mouth and its behaviour to see if the bit fits.

Rinse the bit after each ride and check it for wear or sharp edges.

For whom?

For riders looking for a bit that suits their horse's mouth and needs.

When do you use this?

During training and, if permitted by regulations, in competition.

For which horses?

The right bit choice depends on your horse's mouth conformation and preference; if in doubt, ask for advice.

When is an alternative better?

If your horse does not respond well to this mouthpiece, consult a bit fitter about alternatives.

Attach the bit to the bridle and adjust the height so that it rests gently in the corners of the mouth, without creating wrinkles or hanging too low. Rinse the bit after each ride.
