Product Information

Fager Jesper – Sweet Iron Bradoon with Fixed Rings

The Fager Jesper Sweet Iron Bradoon with fixed rings is an innovative choice for riders working with sensitive or complex horse mouths. This bit stands out due to its unique, reversible design, allowing you to fully tailor its action to your horse's needs. This not only creates more comfort but also a more stable and honest contact.

When used one way, the bit offers extra tongue relief – ideal for horses that actively use their tongue, get behind the bit, or build tension. If you turn the bit around, you create more relief on the bars, which helps horses that become heavy in the hand or fixate in the contact.

The anatomically shaped, double-jointed mouthpiece follows the natural shape of the mouth and distributes pressure evenly without acting on the palate. Thanks to the Sweet Iron material, saliva production is stimulated, contributing to relaxation and better bit acceptance.

The fixed (bradoon) rings ensure a stable position in the mouth, which is especially important when used in a Weymouth & bradoon combination. This makes the Jesper an ideal bradoon for riders striving for refinement, balance, and optimal communication.

Why choose the Fager Jesper:

2-in-1 action: tongue relief or bar relief
Sweet Iron: stimulates salivation and relaxation
Anatomical design: follows the natural mouth shape
Double-jointed mouthpiece: soft and even pressure distribution
Fixed rings: stable and quiet positioning
Perfect for sensitive horses: increases comfort and confidence

If in doubt about the correct bit choice, consult a bit fitter or instructor.

Regularly check the corners of your horse's mouth and its behaviour to see if the bit fits.

Rinse the bit after each ride and check it for wear or sharp edges.

For whom?

For riders looking for a bit that suits their horse's mouth and needs.

When do you use this?

During training and, if permitted by regulations, in competition.

For which horses?

The right bit choice depends on your horse's mouth conformation and preference; if in doubt, ask for advice.

When is an alternative better?

If your horse does not respond well to this mouthpiece, consult a bit fitter about alternatives.

Attach the bit to the bridle and adjust the height so that it rests gently in the corners of the mouth, without creating wrinkles or hanging too low. Rinse the bit after each ride.
