HorseWare Amigo Ripstop 900D Plus Pony Turnout Rug

A rug with no fill keeps your pony dry, but not warmer. Use it mainly on wet days for a pony with a normal coat. If your pony is clipped or it gets properly cold, you can attach a Horseware liner under the rug with the liner loops, so you do not need a second turnout rug straight away.

Use the neck cover in the rain and take it off when the neck does not need covering. Check regularly that the rug has not shifted and is not rubbing at the withers or shoulders.

Choose the Amigo Ripstop 900D Plus Pony Turnout for a pony that lives out and mainly needs to stay dry, and if you also want to cover the neck in the rain. The liner loops make it a base rug that you add to depending on the weather.

Place the rug over the back and fasten the straight front closure first. Then do up the two cross surcingles under the belly, leaving a hand's width of room, place the tail cord under the tail and, if you wish, attach leg straps to the loops. Attach the neck cover to the hood loops. Machine wash at 30 °C with Velcro closed, line dry and do not use bleach, a tumble dryer or an iron.

Is this pony rug filled?
No. It is a 0 g version: it protects against wet weather but adds no insulation.

Is the neck cover included?
Yes. The detachable neck cover comes with the rug and attaches to the hood loops.

Can I attach a liner underneath?
Yes. The rug has liner loops and is compatible with Horseware liners, which are sold separately.

Does the rug have leg straps?
The rug has loops for attaching leg straps. In addition, two cross surcingles, a tail flap and a tail cord keep it in place.

How do I choose the right size?
Measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, to the middle of the tail, take off 10 cm and compare with the Horseware size guide. At Maddelin you can choose between 80/120/4.0 and 115/170/5.6.

How do I wash the rug?
In the machine at 30 °C, with all Velcro closed and straps fastened. Line dry it, without bleach, tumble dryer or iron. Horseware recommends professional cleaning.
