Make sure it stays well above the soft end of the nose and that you can slide two fingers underneath easily. Fitted too low or too tight, it loses its settled position.

Care for the leather with leather soap and then a balm or leather grease, so it stays supple. Wipe away sweat and sand after riding with a damp cloth. Store the bridle dry, on a wide bridle rack: that keeps the padded headpiece in shape.

Because the reins are not included, plan for them yourself. Leather reins with stops or rubber reins suit this type of bridle, depending on how much grip you want.

If you specifically want a combined noseband, that is one with a flash strap below the bit, this is not the model for you: it has a drop noseband. And if you want a complete set with reins included, you are better off with a model where those are supplied.
