This bridle is offered in size Cob. Measure your current bridle if you are in doubt: lay it flat, measure strap by strap from buckle to buckle and compare. When adjusting, make sure you keep spare holes on both sides.

Fasten the noseband with two fingers of room. With a wide, domed noseband the temptation is to fasten it tighter because it feels soft, but it is exactly the width that makes the pressure work across a larger area: you need less tension, not more. Fasten the throatlash so that a fist's width fits between the strap and the throat.

European leather of this quality stays in condition with a simple routine: wipe it down after every ride, clean it weekly with saddle soap and then grease it thinly. Do not clog the underside of the padded parts with grease, because those need to breathe and dry. Let wet leather dry slowly at room temperature.

The Plymouth II is a good choice when you want a bridle you can use in training as well as in the ring, and when pressure distribution is your main concern. The wide noseband and the padded headpiece play that part; the curved browband and the hidden buckles take care of the finish.

If you ride a horse with a fine head or a short distance between the cheekbone and the corner of the mouth, a wide noseband can turn out tight. In that case a model with a narrower noseband from our range fits better. If you want an outspoken working bridle for frequent bit changes, a version with quick fastenings or clips is more practical. And if you would rather have a bridle without a flash strap, choose a model with a single noseband.
