This bridle is offered in size Full. With an anatomic headpiece, placement matters more than with a straight model: the cut-away section belongs exactly behind the base of the ears. Sit it too far forward or too far back and you lose precisely the benefit you are buying it for. Check that after every adjustment.

Fasten the noseband so that two fingers still fit underneath, measured at the widest part over the nasal bone. Adjust the flash strap looser than the noseband itself, and only when you use it. If you are unsure whether your horse benefits from it, ride a few times without: you can simply take it off.

English leather is firm and a little stiffer when new. Grease it thoroughly once when you start using it, then keep to a fixed routine: wipe down after riding, saddle soap weekly and a thin layer of grease afterwards. For a thorough clean, take the straps out of the buckles so you also treat the folds and the holes. Let wet leather dry slowly at room temperature.

The Luton suits riders who put in the hours and notice that their horse reacts to being bridled: head shaking, a tense neck, trouble standing still when the bridle comes off. The cut-away headpiece and the broad, anatomically shaped noseband are made for exactly that. Anyone riding long training sessions or hacking out also benefits.

If you mainly want a bridle for switching bits quickly between several horses, a work bridle with quick-release fittings or clips is more practical. If you want a distinctly decorative browband, our range holds models that lean into that more. And if you ride a horse that will not tolerate a flash strap at all, you can simply leave it off here, or go straight for a model with a plain noseband.
