With a combined noseband you always adjust the noseband itself first and only then the flash strap. Under the noseband you keep room for two fingers. The flash strap should run below the bit and stays looser than the noseband; it is there to keep everything stable, not to pull the mouth shut.

New premium leather is a little stiff for the first few weeks. A thin layer of leather balm before first use, repeated regularly afterwards, helps it break in faster. Beyond that the usual routine is enough: wipe down with a slightly damp cloth after every use, dry at room temperature and treat periodically with glycerine soap followed by balm. The stainless steel buckles you simply wipe dry.

This bridle is a logical choice if you are after a classic model with a combined noseband, and if your horse benefits from the extra stability a flash strap provides. It is built independently of any one discipline, so it suits dressage work just as well as jumping training or hacking out.

If you prefer to ride without a flash strap, a bridle with a plain noseband from our range is the better pick. If you want a crossed model that spreads the tension over several points, a bridle with a grackle noseband is more suitable. And because the reins are not supplied here, budget for those if you want a complete set.
